Direct-Sown Flower Seeds: A Comprehensive List and Planting Guide

For growers who may not have had the chance to start many cut flower seeds indoors this past winter and spring, there are still plenty of opportunities to achieve the summer garden of your dreams. Thankfully, some of our favorite varieties do best when their seeds are directly sown into the garden - no special growing lights or trays required!

This downloadable guide focuses primarily on tender annuals that can be planted outside directly from seed after the last frost of the spring. Here in Greater Philadelphia, that’s typically in early-mid May - and if you’re not in the Philly area, this is a really helpful tool for predicting your last and first frost dates of the growing season!
